Thread count is another important factor to consider when choosing flannel sheets.  While the higher the thread count of regular cotton sheets, the better the quality, with flannel sheets, this is less important.  Instead, focus on the fabric weight and overall feel of your bed sheets to gauge their quality.

One of the most fun parts of sheet shopping is choosing color and pattern. If you have a specific aesthetic or interior design vision in mind, that’s something important to consider as you shop. Not all brands carry a wide variety of colors and patterns, so you may want to start your search with brands that do if that is important to you.

Choose 200 thread count and above - anything less will wear badly, rip and develop holes! Be wary of really high thread counts over 800 which can produce very stiff sheets and duvet covers that are not very comfortable to sleep on and are really hard to iron!
