With its smooth finish, incredible durability,  and resistance to pilling, Egyptian cotton is the highest quality cotton you can find. It’s typically made with an extra-long staple — the longest cotton fiber available — and can be fairly pricey for the real stuff.

What are filament fibers? Some of the most common ones used for satin are silk, nylon, and polyester. Traditionally, satin was only made with silk but modern materials like nylon and polyester are now used, too. Staple fibers include materials like cotton and rayon, which are used for sateen.

The 19^th century saw the invention of the cotton gin. This machine quickly and easily separates cotton fibres from their seeds which revolutionised cotton production. Thus, the cotton sheet was born. This was the start of a new industry. It became much easier to produce cotton than flax and that in turn made it a cheaper product. Ultimately cotton became the popular choice for bedding, though the name bed linen stuck.

The second step is to become familiar with how a duvet cover operates. Duvets are designed to fit comfortably within the cover, similar to how a pillow fits inside a pillowcase. The duvet is held in place by snaps, buttons, or ties, resulting in a single, secure blanket.
