Thread count refers to the number of threads (both horizontal and vertical) in one square inch of material. Generally speaking, the greater the number, the smoother, more durable the sheet. At one point thread count played a large part in what type of sheets sleepers bought, but it’s becoming more important to focus on the overall quality instead.

MICROFIBER Microfiber sheets are known to be extremely comfortable and warm. These sheets are made from tightly woven synthetic fibers, which make a soft and durable fabric. They are commonly made from either nylon polymers, polyester, or wood pulp, creating a thin yet strong linen.

Polycotton sheets or 'easy care' sheets are made with a blend of man-made polyester (a type of plastic) and cotton. Polycotton bed linen is generally cheap to buy and easy to care for. It dries quickly and doesn't require much ironing.
